1359 - Owain ap Gruffudd Fychan (Owain Glyndŵr) was probably born in Sycharth, but he may have been born in Glyndyfrdwy or Trefgarn Owain.


January 6th, 1367 - Richard II was born in Bordeaux.


April 3rd, 1367 - Henry Bolingbroke was born in Lincolnshire.


1370 - By this date Glyndŵr’s father, Gruffydd Fychan, had died. Owain, still under age, became a royal ward - possibly assigned to the Earl of Arundel as his guardian.


1376 - Glyndŵr studied Law at the Inns of Court in London.


July 16th, 1377 - Richard II was crowned King of England.


1383 - Glyndŵr married Margaret, daughter of Sir David Hanmer, in Hanmer Church.


March 1384 - Glyndŵr served under Sir Gregory Sais at Berwick on Tweed with his brother, Tudur.


August 1385 - Glyndŵr took part in Richard II’s attack on Scotland.


September 3rd, 1386 - Glyndŵr gave evidence at a trial about the respective heraldic rights of Lord Scrope and Sir Robert Grosvenor.


September 16th, 1386 - Henry of Monmouth was born.


1387 - The death of Sir David Hanmer led to the semi-retirement of Glyndŵr to manage his estates.


March 24th, 1387 - Owain and Tudur entered the service of the Earl of Arundel as esquires, and Glyndŵr took part in the naval battle of Cadzand off the Flemish coast.


December 19th, 1387 - Glyndŵr probably fought at the Battle of Radcot Bridge.


August 4th, 1388 - Reginald de Grey became the 3rd Baron Grey of Ruthin.


July 12th, 1397 - Richard Fitzalan, Earl of Arundel, was arrested and then executed on September 21st.


July 20th, 1398 - Roger Mortimer, 4th Earl of March, was killed in Ireland.


October 13th, 1399 - Bolingbroke was crowned Henry IV of England, and made his eldest son the English Prince of Wales.
